HCA Roles and Responsibilities
Job Summary: A home care aide is responsible for providing personalized assistance and support to individuals who require help with daily living activities due to illness, disability, or aging. The primary goal is to enable clients to remain in their homes and maintain their independence while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Personal Care Assistance:

Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

Help clients with mobility and transferring from bed to wheelchair or vice versa.

Assist with feeding and medication reminders as necessary.
Household Assistance:

Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.

Ensure a safe and clean environment for the client.

Assist with grocery shopping and running errands if needed.
Companionship and Emotional Support:

Engage in conversation and provide companionship to clients.

Offer emotional support and encouragement.

Accompany clients to appointments, outings, and social activities.
Observation and Reporting:

Monitor clients' health status and report any changes or concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals.

Document care provided and observations accurately and timely.
Maintaining Professionalism:

Maintain confidentiality and respect clients' privacy and dignity.

Follow ethical standards and guidelines in providing care.

Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, families, and other healthcare team members.
Working Conditions:
